The short version: PDFolio converts files on your device. We don't upload your documents to any server. The only data we collect is your email address if you create an account.
Guest mode (no account): No personal data collected. A daily conversion count is stored locally on your device only.
With an account:
Your email address and hashed password
Files you explicitly choose to upload to cloud storage
File metadata (filename, size, date uploaded)
3. How your files are processed
All conversions — images to PDF, merge, split, compress — happen entirely on your device. Your documents are never sent to our servers. Files you upload to cloud storage are stored encrypted at rest via Supabase.

5. How we use your data

Getting started
How many free conversions do I get?
PDFolio is free with 3 conversions per day. The count resets every 24 hours. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited conversions.
Do I need an account to use PDFolio?
No. You can convert files without an account. An account is only needed for cloud storage to access files across devices.
What file types can I convert?
JPG, PNG, HEIC and other image formats to PDF. You can also save any web page as a PDF. PDF to image exports pages as JPG files.
Pro & subscriptions
How do I cancel my subscription?
iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → PDFolio → Cancel. You keep Pro access until the end of the billing period.
What's included in Pro?
Unlimited conversions, all PDF tools (merge, split, compress), cloud storage, and no ads — ever.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open PDFolio → Settings → Restore Purchase. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Does the Annual plan have a free trial?
Yes — 3-day free trial on the Annual plan. You won't be charged until the trial ends. Cancel anytime from iOS Settings.
Privacy & files
Are my files uploaded when I convert?
No. All conversions happen on your device. Files are never sent to our servers. Cloud storage only applies to files you explicitly upload with a Pro account.
How do I delete my account and data?
Settings in the app → Delete Account. All data permanently deleted within 30 days. Or email privacy@pdfolio.app.
Troubleshooting
The conversion failed — what do I do?
Try: (1) Open the file in another app to check it isn't corrupted. (2) Check available storage space. (3) Restart PDFolio. If the issue persists, email us with the file type and size.
My PDF is too large — how do I reduce it?
Use the Compress tool. It reduces file size by optimising the internal PDF structure.
By downloading or using PDFolio, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. The service
PDFolio provides PDF conversion, editing, and storage tools for iPhone. We offer a free tier with limited daily conversions and a Pro subscription with unlimited access.
3. Subscriptions
Pro subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Manage in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
The Annual plan includes a 3-day free trial for new subscribers.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use PDFolio to convert files you don't own or have rights to, circumvent technical limitations, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.
5. Intellectual property
PDFolio and its contents are owned by Aperture Studio. You retain full ownership of any files you convert using the app.
6. Limitation of liability
PDFolio is provided "as is". We are not liable for any data loss, conversion errors, or damages. Always keep backups of important documents.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
8. Licensed Application EULA
Your use of PDFolio is subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, incorporated into these Terms by reference.
